over 3 years ago | It should be fixed in my last changeset. Montée Sanch is not yet completed going north from Bouthillier/Des Entreprises. Should be completed tonight.
over 3 years ago | Turn lanes should not be added to the segments inside the intersection. Please see wiki discussing this. Thanks!
over 3 years ago | OK nice! Thanks!
over 3 years ago | Parts in blue with green border are completed and validated. If you find a problem in these segments, I will be happy to fix them. If the error is outside these segments, the data is old data, not from me, or incomplete. Segments with dashed white border are planned to be validated and completed in the next months.
over 3 years ago | Most of the problems you mentioned are not from me... I cannot complete whole cycling paths in one go, this will take months to complete. Here is a map of the parts of roads I completed and validated: https://ibb.co/3cmTCz8
over 3 years ago | On grande côte between Grande-Allée and Carignan, I did not complete this part yet. This is old data. I only completed from Carignan to the A15 (voie d'accès Curé-Boivin). Most of the time, if you select the path it will show that I changed it but it is just because I completed a segment that touches the old data. I added notes to these uncompleted segments.
over 3 years ago | On Grande-Côte, I just mapped a small section between the A13 ramp and Avenue des Mille-Îles. The rest is not from me.
over 3 years ago | Please explain what you mean by mapped incorrectly. The carrefour Boileau/Curé-Labelle/lapointe is new from 2022 and we don't have up to date aerial imagery, but there is a curb on street imageries from july 2022 so I mapped the cycleway separately. I would be happy to fix problems, but please be specific on what the error is. Thanks!
over 3 years ago | I completed the cycling path on Rue Boileau, from the train station to Curé-Labelle, so this should fix every problems you add with incorrect connections.
| 125111469 | over 3 years ago | Please don't realign on Bing Maps except if you use this offset in the Montreal area: 0.6,-1.54

C'est un work in progress.
over 3 years ago | First of all: please stay polite and explain yourself in a precise and clear manner. Second: it is pretty clear in the wiki that if there is a separation between the road and the cycling path (curb, barrier, concrete or any physical separation), it is correct to map the cycleway separately. At this road segmetn on Rue Boileau between Saint-Michel and Curé-Labelle, there is indeed a curb separating the cuycling path to the road since 2022. Also, in the Montreal area, separating the cycleway from road when there is a curb this is the norm. I do not understand what you mean by "get a GPS and you will see it is impossible to route". Please explain the exact problem you get, the tool or app you are using. I do not want to get into an edit war here, but this should not be an exception. Mapping cycleway as separate way when it is not separated only by painted lane or flex posts helps caracterizing the crossing and it is quite useful when analyzing cycle path quality. If you want to change the way we do things, please ask on the mailing lists before removing hard work by fellow osm users/editors.
over 3 years ago | The cycleway is now separated on Rue Boileau (since 2022). I will put it back as a separated highway=cycleway
over 3 years ago | That is weird indeed. sidewalk=separate should be accepted alongside sidewalk:left=separate and sidewalk:right=separate or not.
over 3 years ago | For instance if a cyclist comes from Rue de la Canitinière on the separated cycle path and wants to turn left on Céleron, it can't without the small crossing segments.
over 3 years ago | The small segments I added were for bicycle routing, not for pedestrian. If we don't add these small segments, bicycle routing can fail when transitioning between a cycleway and a road (disconnected). Pedestrians will use sidewalks, but to connect between cycleways and roads, we need these small segments. How do you suggest we tag these if you don't want to use cycleway=crossing?
over 3 years ago | And yes, my typing is really bad today! Sorry!
over 3 years ago | An issue should be added to the sepcific erroneous rendrers so at least one day they will mainly parse them correctly. It is specified everywhere in the WIKI: don't tag for the renderer. If you have specific renderers for whihc semi-colons are causing error, please tell us and we will add issues to them directly.
over 3 years ago | OK. Thanks
