Yeah I suspected that could be used. I’m thinking of using that further to the east where it’s more ambiguous. On this segment there are only addresses with Homestead. 2 out of 3 signs don’t use the cardinal direction.

Where it switches back to Sunnyvale is where I have to investigate further.

It’s confusing when one side of a sign uses one name and the other side uses a slightly different name.

Using alt_name seems appropriate for this segment at this time.

The Santa Clara County Orthoimagery (Winter 2024) is more current too. This building isn’t there either.

This building no longer exists. It was demolished a while ago. Please see the Mapillary pictures for more recent imagery. I recommend reverting this change.

Thanks for your note and your consideration. If you're trying to get your address added to the map, you should add it to the building and tag it with address tags. If you're trying to allow people to find your address, it should not be as a name on a point on a road.

Please revert this change. Your change makes the name no longer match the street signs. The street signs say Wolf Road and doesn’t have the cardinal name North. Some property records do include North in the name, which is why that is the alternate name. Both names are valid, but name should reflect the ground truth when navigating.

Actually the roads are not under construction. Only the homes are under construction. Please revert this change. Please see recent Mapillary imagery for details.

Since I didn't see a response, I've gone ahead and moved the road back to where it was. Roads are supposed to be drawn down the center of the actual lanes and not to one side. That change is here: changeset/154504717

Only the parking lot seems to be asphalt. The entrance from Winchester looks like red concrete. Can you please split this road and update the surfaces to match what can be seen from the aerial imagery?

Why did you specify that the sidewalk has an asphalt surface? It's a concrete sidewalk.

Can you please clarify what you changed here? It looks like you moved the road. Traditionally, the road goes down the middle, like the other side and not to the right shoulder that you did in your changes.

The roads are likely privately maintained. They're not private access. It's not gated. There are no signs declaring them private, like the signs seen on private roads in other areas.

Please try to connect crossing roads in the future where applicable. This issue was listed as a warning in your changeset. I've gone ahead and made the fix for you, and I added the missing parking lot.

Above the doorway to this building, it literally says "90 STERN AVE". The USPS data is stale or incorrect. I'll send you a separate message about receiving the picture.
