Hi Marcus,
First my apology.
I only use JOSM where you first pick barrier=fence then have the option to describe the fence type and height. So I had not come across a tag barrier=wire_fence before. I just tried barrier=wire_fence in JOSM and it is accepted.
It's a bit confusing also because two OSM Wiki pages barrier=fence and barrier=* advise to use 'barrier=fence and fence_type=wire'. Indeed one page advises to "verify if it could be tagged with another tag".

Sorry to have troubled you, Regards Bernard.

Hello Marco,
Although we are all able to utilise Google Maps the data is copyright to Google and therefore not to be used in OSM.
Please fee free to send pics if you think I can help, upload them somewher and send a link or direct to me BCNorwichOSM(at)gmail.com .

Hi Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
I've reverted your change as deleting an object removes it's history from the database.
If an object needs amending/moving please make adjustments to the original/existing object. Thus the existing history along with the history of your change is maintained.
Also your position joined the phone to the highway.
I've moved the phone to your new location beside Waddington Road.
Regards Bernard.

Hi Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
Squaring the buildings up makes the mapping look a lot more neater.

Hi,
Tags for the fence Way: 794155176 should be barrier=fence and fence_type=wire not just barrier=wire_fence as that is not recognised or rendered.
I've amended that fence line, are there more?
Regards Bernard.

Hi, You've duplicated some sections of highway by placing Way: Rainford Linear Park (793197836) on to of existing highways.
Could you have a look and remedy this please?
Regards Bernard.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
There is access to Jackets Lane by cycle and motor vehicle, and the way has been mapped as an unclassified road. You can see on imagery that there is vehicle access to the digger hire premises.

Unless you can verify your changes, no bicycle or motor vehicle use and speed limit 5mph, then you ought not amend the way thus. It is quite right for you to give an opinion in the description tag to make folk aware of problems. Or even to map any verifiable obstructions. You could tag the part of the lane that is both unclassified highway and Public Right of way footpath.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
I can see (from imagery) the position of a gate on the access road just north of a pond near to Oakridge Lane, I've mapped this adding access=agricultural to both gate and track.

I can't see where a gate is on Blackbirds Lane (I take it you mean the south end). Anyway OS Map and Hertfordshire Definitive map show the south section of Blackbirds Lane, (that you tagged as private) as being a way having public access. The existing OSM tagging states it as an unclassified road. Your putting access=private on the way implies there is no access to the public, which is incorrect. Yes the road may well be in private ownership as is almost all land (even highways) in the UK. But if you tag it as private you ought also tag the allowed access.
Further your private tag will hinder anyone in the future claiming any right over the way.
I've removed the private tag.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I added foot=designated, tweaked the path line a bit and joined it to the road at north end. It would be good to have the Council prow_ref number.

Hi, I've made amendments to the tracks, streams, ford, added bridges. This as best I can from imagery.

Hi, Why remove the grass area? Probably a mistake. I've reinstated it for you.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
I wondered if the path just stops at the back of the farm.

Hi,
Could you please show that this is actually a formal shared use cycleway rather that a footpath? I can find no reference to it being a cycleway.

Secondly, whatever it's designation/use there are problems with the mapping. At the north end there is a self-intersection of the way. Then for most of it's length it criss crosses over Ifield Avenue, sometimes joining onto it sometimes not. At the south end near a mini roundabout you've made a self-intersection to Ifield Avenue. The footpath is actually set back from the road in places substantially.

Looking at the Crawley Council cycleway map the official cycleway route from the south ends near this mini roundabout.

So whether the cycleway is official or not there are several problems that need addressing.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

There was no need for a multipolygon relation for the smaller building, it only unnecessarily bloats the database. I've removed the relation and tagged building=yes.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
Your cafe is situated in the middle of a grass area. Your changeset comment mentions a test. I think what you've actually done is inadvertently add fiction to our live worldwide database, thus I'll remove the cafe POI. If I'm wrong I apologise and will put it back.

If you need help mapping genuine features please just ask.

Regards Bernard.

Hi, There's no need to delete any names, that is just removing genuinely correct data from OSM. When you wish to amend a name to Welsh please change the English name tag from name=??? to name:en=Cowbridge Road.
Thus adding instead of distracting from our database. This is after all a worldwide database so everyone should be equally catered for.

Regards Bernard.
