Changeset When Comment

Hi Matt,
All changesets have been reverted to the original state in my changesets numbers #95818983 #95818312 #95818280 #95818253 #95818234 #95818201 #95818175 #95818132 #95818084

You can now make corrections/amendments to the original mapping without deleting features, thus you'll keep all history.

Regards Bernard.

Hi, If you leave it as is, make no more changes to amend or correct anything I'll try to revert everything later today. I'll comment here to say how I get on.

Hi, you inadvertently made quite a few self intersections here, I think I've corrected the all. Regards Bernard.

Hi, in this and the previous changeset you've deleted 55 features thus removing all the history associated with those features, the data lines tags chronology and contributors.

Would you consider reverting these deletions in order to reinstate the history. Then you could make your amendments to the existing features.

Need any help please just ask. Regards Bernard.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

May I please point out that when amending or correcting objects in OSM it is usual practice to amend/correct the existing objects. Thus you keep all the previous mapping history of the object, all data dates and contributors.

In deleting and redrawing objects you remove all the present and previous history of the object. Folk can't then see how the map has evolved.

I've reverted this changeset in order to reinstate the deleted history, then amended the features to try and replicate your changes. This is in Changeset: 95714002

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The path you edited Way: 168864186 was placed on top of an existing path thus making a duplication. I've removed the duplication. Part of Way: 168839146 was also duplication of a highway being a path on top of an existing road. I've removed the duplicated section.

So I'm not quite sure what you were trying to correct. If you need any help please just ask on the comments here.

Regards Bernard.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Your addition is well mapped, I wondered though if the way/881904535 is part of Conference Close, if so it could be named such. Also is way/881904534 part of Almond Way, again if so it could be named such.

Hello Sythelux,

The steps and footways are still not correct although they may appear correct to you. Can you tell me which way each set of steps slope please? Is the right eastwards end of the steps the high end and is this the same for both sets of steps?

Many Thanks, Bernard.

Hi, Squaring your buildings up would make them look a lot neater. I also see unnecessary nodes in some outlines that serve no purpose.
To Square up in the iD editor, highlight right-click on the outline, left-click the square icon. This squaring action also removes the extra nodes at the same time.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I see you've got three buildings addressed as number 2 Clifton Drive. Looks a bit off, could you have a look and amend please.

No response so I've reinstated the deleted buildings.

Hi, Seems like a question in your changeset comment. The blue P indicates a parking area only, it doesn't indicate that the area is public parking unless accompanied by access=yes. Please see amenity=parking for further info.
Your tag access=private indicates that use of the car park is private only.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
I've amended the footpath tagging to suit OSM practice and tweaked the line a bit. Removed the width=0 tag as that was illogical (a path with no width can't really be a path).

Hi, Way: 877762790 ends very close to Way: 674716138 (the service road), are they supposed to be joined?

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

All three of these POI are a bit naughty, there's a huge fine for trespassing on the railway lines. Therefore I've reverted the changeset thus removing the POI.

You've got the ability to contribute genuine features to OSM. Need any help please just ask.

Regards Bernard.

Hi Sid,
There is no individual POI node as all info is now contained on the building polygon/outline. The name and the teapot symbol do appear as at this zoom level changeset/95028163#map=18/51.58457/-0.27995

Zoom levels are not all rendered at the same time sometimes there are delays. Of course other maps will depend on when the data is updated. Clearing your browser cache might help.

I've been through these changes and fixed the problems I can see.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I've amended and added to your data. Also removed the building (POI) inside building so as to meet OSM practice.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I would agree that access=no is incorrect for these roads as there obviously is some access. Tag access=private would be more appropriate.
