I've had to revert your changes/addition to the footpaths here because the manner that they were done seriously disrupted what was already mapped.

You had made paths into tree lines, deleted paths, self intersected path lines, dragged existing ways out of alignment. Gave names that were not actually names and used abbreviations (FP).

You tagged a lot of long paths as highway=crossing which is obviously wrong.

Hi, you've drawn a scrub area, (Way: 683353505) to cover several highways, grass verges, half a round about, a highway drainage filter area, meadows, and tracks. The way is also self intersecting at the west.

I wonder if you are aware that you have deleted a footway from OSM, the one around the bandstand. If you are aware could you please say why? Or was the deletion inadvertent?

Stile joined to path.

Hi, I joined your new gates to the highway so they are recognised as a barrier to that highway. Without joining up they are not a barrier to the highway.

Hi, I have amended the path Way: 682927698 to show it as a tunnel. The layer tag only uses whole numbers + or - to show a relation to other features, it is not used as a measurement.

I'm afraid your changes were uploaded to the OSM database, this resulted in several features being dragged out of shape. I have reverted the changeset so all is back as it was originally.

In JOSM if you think things are going wrong it is best to delete the Data Layer you are editing and start again. Anything uploaded is immediately on the live worldwide database and could cause disruption.

JOSM is the best editor but there is a great deal to learn in order to correctly contribute to OSM. There are lots of HowTo and help sites including this JOSM basic guide :-osm.wiki/JOSM/Guide

Pretty good mapping for your first go. I've made a few small amendments joining the ends of paths to the main highway.
The reason being that long tails of highway (footpath) that end without joining to the highway network would be regarded as cul de sacs or no through ways. They would then be disregarded by navigation software.

Hello, you are placing a lot of footpaths on top of streets. This is not the correct way to add footpaths so these duplication of highways should be removed.

I have removed some of them but there are quite a lot so will you please remove or amend them.

I've removed the noexit=yes tag from the railway that you somehow added.

No response so I've removed the area drawn over a building and replaced it with a POI with the info. I've also removed the noexit=yes tag from the railway that you somehow added.

Please be careful with your mapping so as not to disrupt OSM with fiction.

Hi, your new Way: 675362322, is a duplication of an existing Way: Palmerston Road (164857317). The existing way holds much more detail. A duplication of highways disrupts routing. Thus I have removed the new way. If a way needs amending it is OSM practice to keep and amend the existing way, this keeps the ways history intact.

You inadvertently dragged some features out of position with your amendments to the recreation ground. These would not necessarily have been easy to see in the iDEditor.
I've rectified the features so no harm done (pipeline, residential area and recreation ground were misplaced).
