Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
You accidentally dragged a park boundary node and joined it to a highway center, I've corrected that. I've corrected Longfield Ave that was dragged out of place along with the interpolation line for the houses. I've unjoined the grass area from the path centreline.
Park POI is deleted, it's not needed, the park is mapped. Also deleted park tag from the tree.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I just wanted to point out to you Brook Country Park is already mapped in relation: (1172820) relation/1172820. Thus your two new areas are in fact duplication and triplication of the same named park. I don't think there is a specific "Brook Country Park - Kids Section" and I doubt that would be it's formal name anyway. So I've removed the two areas for you.

If I can help please just ask.

Hi, I joined your gate to the highway as I take it that you meant the gate as a barrier to the highway. Also put in the pedestrian/cycle path to the side of it. I the pedestrian/cycle path the correct side of the gate? Please adjust if not, Thanks.

Hi, No need for some data on the POI and some on building outline. POI data is now amalgamated on the building outline.

Hi, your best way is to start with the help section linked at the top of this page. There's now lots of info about OSM on the web including video instructions. Specific questions or problems can be asked on the forums, linked via the same help section. You can give me a shout if you wish.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I am guessing that you were trying to figure out how OSM and its iD editor works. Unfortunately you uploaded a fictional highway to the database, (a residential highway crossing over The Strand), no problem though I've just now removed it.

If you need any help please just ask.

Hi, there's no need to delete the buildings. it would have been much better and retained the history of features if you had modified/amended existing mapped features. When more than one business occupies a building it is correct to place the building address on the building outline then use POI's for bushinesses occupying the building.

It's not to OSM best practice to delete and redraw, best to modify/amend the existing features, thus history is maintained.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Do you have any more details on the war memorial please? I can't find anything on-line. I've added the ruined chapel.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

You inadvertently duplicated part of the service road by drawing up to, then around the circle then back to the beginning. I've removed the duplication as it could have been difficult to separate it.
I also joined the road to Violet Hill Road and tagged the access as customers rather than permissive, folk using the cemetery don't have to obtain permission.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

A business that occupies a whole building can have the business details/tags on the building outline. A business that occupies only part of a building should be mapped as a POI. Thus I have reverted your change to the building address (reinstating the original data) and added a POI for your business.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Your POI is a duplication of an existing POI. The actual building is also duplicated. I have remove one building outline and both POI. All information is now on the building outline.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

There's no need to duplicate the info on a building and a POI. So I've consolidated all info on the building, removing the POI as it's really just duplication.

I added the website and amended the address and opening time to suit OSM practice.
Squared up the building, does it really narrow to the street like that?

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I've tagged the school area and buildings as disused as per OSM best practice. This will show folk scanning the map the status and hopefully alleviate them being reinstated from aerial imagery.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Just wanted to let you know that you inadvertantly added your new data to the boundary line that is in part drawn under the line of Norfolk Park Avenue. I've removed t duplicate data so no harm is done. I also removed the access=no and motor_vehicle=no tags as there is access by vehicle to part of this way as indicated by the original tagging. I've re-sited the gate across Norfolk Park Avenue at St Aidan's Avenue.

If the access has changed from Granville Road, my apologies, please re-amend it.

I forgot to say the sidewalk tag is not appropiate as a sidewalk is a footpath beside a street (sidewalk=*). There's no street so I've removed it. Also I tagged part of the path as covered=yes.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The path is saved to the database, it takes a little while even for the OSM map to be re-rendered. Other compiled maps could take quite a while before a fresh map is compiled/re-rendered and released.

The iDeditor always downloads up to date data so to check your features are in the database sign out of the editor. Signing in again downloads all the newest data.

Need any help please just ask. Regards Bernard.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The shop you have added is alreaddy mapped to OSM so I've removed the duplicate POI. I've amended the original/existing POI with your new information and added a website.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Your new 'turn points' have strange tagging. You are saying access=no and also access is allowed. Please see:- access=*
In general for the UK a primary highway allows use by all traffic, so it is only necessary to specify restricted traffic. Unless there is restricted traffic then all that's needed is highway=primary.

Unless the lanes are actually marked then lanes=* should not be used, it is then assumed, in the absence of a oneway restriction, that there is two way traffic.
Are these link ways all the same, all two way?

Lastly I wonder why you tag some of the links foot=no?

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Pretty good for a first attempt. It's always good to look at how similar features have been mapped to decide how to proceed. Or indeed read up on guidelines.

Anyway I've made a few corrections to the houses you added so you can see what is needed. Each house must be a complete polygon (a single line enclosing the feature and making a circuit, last node joined to the first one). A feature just tagged as area=yes will not be rendered. A house is tagged building=house, area tag is not needed. Building look neater more professional if squared up.

I've corrected your two changesets so they are OK now. If you need any help please just ask.

Hello,

I see you are still adding a lot of un-described areas to the map that match buildings on the aerial imagery. They should be tagged at least as building=yes, the area=yes tag should be removed. Otherwise they are not rendered so of no benifit to OSM or anyone using the database.

The buildings can also be tidied up by zooming right in, you can then correct the outlines, you can also orthogonalize (square up) buildings to make your mapping more professional looking.

If you need any help just ask. Regards Bernard.
