Using this map through RunKeeper, you can't build a loop around the west side of the lake by just having it snap to the road from this point. It always wants to cross the expanse just south of here between the northern point of the reservoir and south, near where it says Lake Hollywood Open Space. I can't figure out how to edit this myself.
