| How often is Navfree updated from OSM ? | As far as I'm aware they haven't updated since they launched back at the start of October, so it's well overdue. I've created an idea on their uservoice - maybe you could add a vote or three? |
| Potlatch 2 - no reminder to save | It should pop up a javascript alert box - potlatch2 knows when you have stuff to save (it enables the save button) and at the same time tells the html page to alert during the onbeforeunload event. Unfortunately it appears that Opera are alone in not firing the onbeforeunload event. You should contact their support team and ask them to add support. |
| Potlatch 2 is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! | Yeah, I'd encourage anyone who likes P2 to set it as their default editor. When we see enough people using it, and hunt down any bugs that crop up, we can switch over the default. |
| _sevbot is operating | Please don't auto-transliterate. That can be done by other pieces of software if required. You shouldn't be inserting data into openstreetmap which is just a processed version of other openstreetmap data. |
| London winter pub meet-up at the Monkey Puzzle | If anyone wants some of the awesome leaflets to hand out, you can order them (completely free) from the OpenCycleMap shop at http://shop.opencyclemap.org/products/openstreetmap-promotional-leaflets and I'll put them in the post. |
| Scale bar | 2.10, that is |
| Pakistan Remote mapping Workshop | Great stuff Harry, and sorry I wasn't able to make it then. It's a shame that SPOT isn't available in Potlatch 1/2, |
| WR14 | Get an eTrex Vista HCx. Everything else is not worth the money. See http://www.gravitystorm.co.uk/shine/gps-recommendations/ |
| Project Completion! | This is my little ball of awesomeness for the day. |
| Request for comments on my Wiki sidebar proposal | Seems good, although I think you could improve it further by dropping the shop link. I like your renaming of the Wiki Homepage |
| Multiplexing NCN Routes | I believe it's "allowed" by sustrans, or maybe they don't care about such distinctions as much as highway engineers do! In such cases the routes should definitely be recorded in OSM using relations, sharing the same way. |
| Using turtle graphics to map buildings | You should remember that a square house in real life won't necessarily appear as square in either latlong (epsg:4326, the josm default) nor spherical mercator (epsg:900913/3857, rendering default). So worry more about getting the corners in the right real places! |
| 300.000 users come clother | Registered users, that is. The number of accounts that have contributed to the map is around 10% last time I had the stats. |
| Copyright on marine boundaries | I think the coordinates will be fine to use - I can't see anyone suggesting you would need a contract, license or similar to use the information provided in statue law. Just remember to convert them from OSGB36 to WGS84! |

| Footpaths just missing roads | emj: Not quite. The situation in the UK is that each road has only one reference number for a particular stretch, whereas it's quite common for one stretch of road or path to belong to multiple cycle routes. Relations are more effective for the latter, and especially if you want to add extra information to the route relation such as the people who create that route (operator). Cycle route mapping was quite extensive before relations became used for this. As for the original question, yes, the footpaths are supposed to connect to the road if they do so in real life. |

| Who monitors OpenStreetBugs? | It's a good point, and I have the same issue. There's been work undertaken to tie in openstreetbugs into the main website, but it needs someone to pick up the project and finish it off. http://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/tree/openstreetbugs Also, potlatch2 now has vector backgrounds, which are the clickable version of normal raster map backgrounds. I'm planning on making OSB available as an option within the editor, so that mappers can see what errors are recorded for the area that they are working on. |
| London Cycle Superhighways | They would be lcns I reckon - part of the London Cycle Network - but from what I've heard, they are little more than intermittant cycle lanes so I'd be happy just seeing the cycle lanes added appropriately :-) |
| OpenStreetMap "Geolocate me" user script | Looks good. If you want to see it considered for the front page of osm.org you should consider filing an enhancement request at http://trac.openstreetmap.org (component 'website', or even better you can git clone the rails_port project and work on the code directly. |
| JOSM Dialogs | Not a very constructive attitude, it has to be said. If you would like to suggest an enhancement to JOSM, then you can file a ticket at http://josm.openstreetmap.de/newticket to bring it to everyone else's attention. |
| London Cycle Hire scheme locations | Great! I'd like to make sure all of the locations end up in OSM, without importing the planning permission list. I think it's important that everyone else realises that a) planning permission has been refused for some of the sites b) in some places work was started and then postponed due to unexpected things lurking under the road and c) some won't be finished any time soon anyway! Fancy putting a page up on the wiki to help coordinate? |
