The international name is added in the tag int_name[:<xx>] and not in name. Our official language in Saudi Arabia is Arabic. If you want to put other languages, please put them in the other tags.

الوسم name مخصص للمسميات باللغة العربية نرجوا منكم جعل اللغات الأخرى حسب الوسوم الخاصة بها مثل name:en

I agree with the deletion solution, regards

As I've mentioned to you before, this geographical name doesn't exist and isn't recognized; it's a generic name. The existence of a page on Wiki doesn't validate the accuracy of the information. Anyone can create a page with incorrect information, and perhaps this page is outdated, leading to its translation into many languages. Let me give you an example to understand why this name is incorrect. Imagine if someone labeled a place as "Forests of Europe" or "Mountains of America" and created a Wiki page and a map showing all the mountains in America, then claimed this as a valid place! This wouldn't make that place accurate; it's a mistake. Also, as someone knowledgeable and expert in the names of geographical landmarks in the Arabian Peninsula, this name is incorrect and non-existent. In the Arabian Peninsula, we name geographical landmarks more than anywhere else in the world to avoid confusion in the desert. We have classifications for desert landmarks and place them before the name to identify the location. You can refer to these classifications here: [link provided]. Therefore, if this point doesn't exist in Egypt, it puts us in a position to consider deleting it.

Best regards,
Abdullah

Hi mboeringa19,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the issue and provide references.

I would like to clarify to you that we do not have a specific place called “Arabian Desert.” Perhaps this name is only found on foreign wikis. We here name natural landmarks more than anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, this name is very general, and there is no one who calls a landmark by this name. I reversed the change because the name may have actually existed in Egypt!
my regards

It seems that you accidentally deleted one of the lines related to "الربع الخالي":

Unfortunately, some place names cannot be deleted from the name field because they are known locally as an integral part of the name. If they were deleted, people would not be able to know the place well, especially in difficult desert areas where describing the nature of the land is important and the OSM tags do not describe it appropriately. Also, these descriptive words are very small and consist of one word and provide a clear meaning to the map browser, as they do not take up a large space in the name field.

The name contains in its first part a description, but it is a sub-description of the place, and the tags in OSM may not cover all the natural features that we have in the Saudi desert, so the user may need to add a description to the name, and automatic translations via Google or others do not give you the correct meaning, for example The name of this place is “جو الورع”:
The word “جو” will be translated in the translator as “atmosphere” or “weather,” but they are all wrong and the correct meaning of this word is “A desert place that is lower than the surrounding land and has vegetation.”
As for the other word, “الورع,” it is the name of this place, and I do not know its meaning. It may be for a plant with this name that is widespread in this place, or for the name of a person who had an incident in this place, and so on.
You can also learn many of the descriptions that we use locally to describe the Arabian Desert from this page:
