| 8701 | You folks REALLY need a simple concept of a private map, with descriptive placemarkers as objects which are saved with the map, kinda like Google maps. What's so valuable about Google maps is my ability to add MY OWN stuff to the map, which since it is a private thing, doesn't have to be useful to the general public. It is enough that the placemarkers are meaningful to me. This notion just seems to be completely absent from anything I have seen in OpenStreetMaps. Perhaps somebody has taken the data, and added this feature/capability to a map viewer, and that it is an "orthogonal" concept to the developing map data of OpenStreetMaps. Problem is: THAT is the feature that I need for a map/viewer to be immediately useful to me. I guess it's Google Maps! |
