Between here Ayachuco (to the west), the road is labelled paved. But the paving is mostly gone. Surface mostly gravel and dusty sand, with maybe 15% remnant tarmac. Functionally it is a (poor) dirt road. It got a bit better to the east, but barely qualifies as surfaced.
