almost 2 years ago | I think they should be highway=footway, highway=living_street implies it is still constructed as a street imo, whereas these are simply named footpaths
about 2 years ago | Not all bus-only roads are automatically highway=busway. See highway=busway#Similar_infrastructure - "Any section of bus-only roadway that only leads into a bus station should be tagged with highway=service + access=no + bus=designated."
about 2 years ago | It was brought to my attention that you changed the classification of the Main street Station bus access roads to highway=busway, and then later I reverted them back to highway=service. I believe that highway=service is the correct tag given the caveat given at highway=busway#Similar_infrastructure : "Any section of bus-only roadway that only leads into a bus station should be tagged with highway=service + access=no + bus=designated." Does that seem right to you?
about 2 years ago | I believe the "Busway" name is somewhat of a misnomer, it's not used by public transit.
about 2 years ago | I mostly wanted to get rid of the giant duplicate "Jersey City" label on the map from way/659474186. However, as I understand landuse=residential, it only refers to the predominant use, so shops can exist in a landuse=residential area, and landuse can be refined down over time. This particular landuse area is much broader than I would probably draw myself if done from scratch, so I'd encourage you to refine it if you have the time :)
| 144049069 | about 2 years ago | A state highway being tertiary is rather unusual at least, there's only a few examples in the whole state: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1Eois

about 2 years ago | Go for it:) Just remember to add the place=neighbourhood nodes to the relation with the role "label". Mappers often overlook this.
about 2 years ago | This road was a highway=primary "stub-end", which contradicts the "Connectivity principle" that is outlined here: osm.wiki/United_States/2021_Highway_Classification_Guidance#Classification.
about 2 years ago | It's a state highway serving as a connection between two relatively large settlements.
about 2 years ago | I don't see an Overlook Park, do you mean Overlook Farms? If so, I didn't draw it unfortunately, I was just the last person to touch it ;)
about 2 years ago | Here you go: https://storage.googleapis.com/juniper-media-library/23/2023/09/2021-10-25_Hales_Corners_Comprehensive_Plan_-_ADOPTED_.pdf on page 35
about 2 years ago | I don't believe access=psv is valid. To tag that it is only for buses one would use access=no + bus=yes.
about 2 years ago | I believe this may be "tagging for the renderer" (see osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer) , as each block is now tagged as a neighborhood. It also duplicates the information already tagged as place=city_block
about 2 years ago | I'm not sure that this belongs in OSM given that we do not map temporary features in OSM: osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don't_map_temporary_events_and_temporary_features
| 139848084 | over 2 years ago | Hi,
|
over 2 years ago | I noticed you created a new node for the Town of Westport: node/11038494320. A node for this town already exists: node/3062413378 (A Wisconsin "Town" is mostly equivalent to other states' "Townships" and therefore are place=municipality rather than place=town or place=village)
over 2 years ago | While I can understand if you don't want to spend the time to map with that much detail, is there any advantage to removing this detail? At least in my opinion, this sort of detail could be useful so cyclists can know that this bike lane isn't completely separated.
over 2 years ago | I removed the Bike route on Greenfield from 76th-60th Street in changeset/121072364 as there are no signs as far as I can tell.
over 2 years ago | Did the city change this section of road such that bikes no longer need to share the road with traffic (sharrow)?: way/315089480
