- Neubaugebiet
- Gewerbegebiet
- Liescher Berg

While at my "other home", i did some mapping of the surroundings. There were some major roads missing and no streets at all, so i mapped the places of my childhood. Lots of memories in here :)
Every other Sunday while my daughter has a golf lesson I get a little over 30 mins to pull the bike off the rack and knock off somewhere in Warwickshire. Today I managed to wrap up the the village of Kingsbury (pop 4k+). Took in all four of these half hour stints over the last couple of months or so. I think Coleshill (pop 6k+) will be next on my list.
Change of "Emil-Siepmann-Strasse" to "Bahnhofstrasse" and correct the max speed from 50 to 30.
Change of "Emil-Siepmann-Strasse" to "Zum Horkamp".
Change of "Hohler Weg" to "Sellerweg".
Hi, I added Windsor Drive (Windsor Place subdivision)
I managed to bag some of the tracks around Guilden Morden. I'm beginning to realise just how many there are. I think that I've got the common land tracks right now. Next up (assuming the rain stops today) is to get the last couple of residential streets (making sure that I note the names down).
I'm not sure how to tag the roads through the village. Some of the roads leading to the village are tagged as secondary whereas I've tagged them as residential and tertiary. I guess that if they've got numbers (B's I'm guessing), then they're secondary. I'm using Great Shelford as a guide.
Hi,
I am new here and I wonder, if someone can help me. Another person has drawn a map of my hometown and made a mistake with the names. There is a long road, which has three different names, but he gave it only one of the names. How can I seperate the road and add the correct names?
So after having done that bike trip twice before without any mapping gear, I took a GPS receiver and my eeePC with me this time! The data includes some bike ways that have not been mapped before (opposite from Bremen steel factory; and from Huntebrück to Oldenburg). It also contains the main street of Lemwerder - that small city seems to have absolutely no mapping data so far. Hope to turn the traces into maps tomorrow.
Btw. though the eeepc caused some hassle at first (I didn't dare to fully close the lid, as the heat from the CPU might damage the display; so there was some blocker needed to keep the lid open a bit), it went quite well in the end. Data logging was fine with gpxlogger, at least after I noticed that its default interval of five seconds might be too coarse, and set the interval to one second; and by turning off Wifi and screen the eee managed to stay alive for four hours on battery.
So today I set off to map the bits I missed last week. I turned off the main (B) road early so as to map a rather narrow little road at a place with the unlikely name of Halfway - well I guess it depends where you are coming from and going to.
Luckily I didn't meet anything coming the other way, otherwise a lot of reversing might have been required. It says unsuitable for HGVs when I think it should just say unsuitable! Anyway I got to wave to a jolly looking farmer on the way....
The tree that was blocking the road at Talley last week has been removed, so I was able to join up the final bit of road there too. The B-roads are pretty much done in that area, next thing is to do the maze of smaller roads that connect them all. Probably a task for next time I visit the gold mine.
Ok, my first two tracks are being processed. I started with two residential streets im my hometown Langenfeld (Bavaria)
Begun detailing the Warneford Churchill hospital area that sits just outside my office last night. building:type=Complex, no kidding, but the N/S layout of the site and JOSM's extrude stuff makes it easier. I'm deliberately restricting myself to only naming buildings which have some relevance to the general public or to visiting academics.
How to map subdivisions like wards in buildings with more than one use? We need some way of mapping (important) building entrances too.
Da un paio di giorni ho aperto un blog personale, l'indirizzo è:

Mi serviva uno spazio, una sorta di "sgabuzzino digitale" e WordPress mi sembra il miglior modo per fare un blog bello e funzionale in pochi minuti.
My cheap but functional SiRF III bluetooth GPS receiver ( http://www.elsc.com.tw/GPS-1210.htm ) has pretty much failed, turning on only once in a while and staying on for now more than a few minutes, so long as the battery is wedged in just so. No great surprise given my falling on it. (A fall which also destroyed the screen of my Palm TX PDA).
What next? I have a SiRF II module which does the job in the open given sufficient time to get a fix, but it doesn't cut it under any kind of cover. I've been considering various Garmin devices for the OSM (cycle) map support, but Garmin themselves have done bugger all for the OSS community. The only device I'm aware of that can display OSM maps and actively supports Free software is the Nokia n8[01]0, something I'd be a little wary of mounting on the handlebars.
I'll probably buy http://www.storagedepot.co.uk/Handheld-GPS/sc893/p75.aspx as some of the profits go to the OSMF.
Hi Folks,
I'm interested in contributing to the mapping of Waterford (city and county), which I visit every 3-4 weeks, but I'm having some difficulties working alone.
I have a GPS unit that will record tracks (roads) and a voice recorder for making notes, and a camera (currently in repair shop) for photographing roadside signs. The difficulty is making notes and taking photographs while driving - not illegal (yet), but certainly more distracting than using a mobile phone, which is already illegal.
I'm interested in meeting somebody with local knowledge of the Waterford area, who would be interested in collaborating in mapping the city streets and county roads.

Wir sind neu hier - und nachdem wir gerade aus Halifax /NS zurücksind, musste ich mal eben ein paar Lokalitäten auf der Karte vermerken (incl. unserem regelmäßigen "Fantreff" Max´s).
We´re new on this site - and after being back from our trip to halifax/NS I had to put in some points of interest (incl. our regular fanpoint Max´s...)
Ive just named some roads in the Southall Area, but they're not appearing on the map.
Completed the closes off Mill St. Added many features around the edge of the town centre. Now complete south of B1102, A1101 as far east as the football ground east edge.
